MY STORY

Hi I'm Chris, designer & creator of obiq - our brand is quirky. I have always been drawn to accessories, for me a pair of statement earrings, a great pair of shoes or a colourful handbag totally make an outfit, allowing the wearer to really express their unique personality.
Design, print & colour are my jam, but colour is & always has been my biggest inspiration. After studying fashion design at MSIT I have worked in the industry for 10 years. In 2020 after being on maternity leave, I decided it was time to work on my own dream.

I have never been one to shy away from a new project, a new technique or a new craft. Like a bower bird collecting shiny things, I am always moving from one project to the next.

That's why there is always so much variety at obiq, you will always find something new & exciting to adorn your ears, hang on your walls, or gift to your best friend.
My range of pom pom earrings are not for the faint hearted, guaranteed to make a bold statement! I started watercolour painting during a challenging time of my life, the fun cacti series came out of this time, you can buy these for your wall or part of the art print series.
But I have been looking for something else, a way that I can use colour & bold design to produce fun, quirky, wearable art that are more accessible for the gal who wants to make a statement but not scream it from the rooftops. This is when I discovered polymer clay. I have found this to be a medium that allows me to create art & accessories at the same time. It allows me to play with colour & print then produce beautiful, quirky, contemporary accessories for the modern woman.

Obiq recently relocated from Brisbane to Adelaide, & I now work out of my little home studio in Adelaide city. I am mum to a very busy two year old, Ziggy. When I am not chasing him around I can be found in my studio space - my happy place.
Thanks for taking the time to get to know a little more about me, I hope you find something here that brings you as much joy as I get from creating them!
Chris xx
